MoH Not Only Threat to Black Ops
When Call of Duty: Black Ops launches you might think that EA’s Medal of Honor would be the one for Activision to watch out for.
But when asked about the Medal of Honor threat by MCV, Call of Duty’s European boss Michael Sportouch said the company has “no concern” about EA’s FPS – and the competition is much wider than one game.
“We respect the competition and we don’t see the competition only coming from Medal of Honor,” he said.
“There will be other very strong titles in the market – Gran Turismo, Assassin’s Creed – all competing for consumers’ money.”
“But we feel that Black Ops is a fantastic game,” he continued.
“So to your question, we have no concern, we are ambitious and confident, but obviously we are looking at the competition and the market globally and not only Medal of Honor.”
The fact that Activision is looking to make Black Ops not only the biggest game launch of the year but the biggest entertainment launch of the year shows just how driven the publisher is.
