EA Looking for MMO Ninja
EA’s on the lookout for a “web ninja” for a new, unannounced MMO.
That’s according to a job listing for an MMO web architect over on Gamasutra.
“We are currently looking for MMO expertise for an unannounced game at our Electronic Arts headquarters location in Redwood City, CA,” it reads.
“Let’s be clear. We’re not looking for just anybody. We’re looking for a web ninja that is well-versed in all web technologies and has extensive experience scaling server-side systems.
“If web technologies were made up on 5 key building blocks (components, data tier, business tier, presentation, integration), you would be Voltron – Defender of the Web Universe.”
According to IndustryGamers, the job post originally made reference to a “revolutionary MMO”, although this has since been removed.
An EA spokesperson said: “We’ve got many interesting projects incubating at the Redwood Shores campus, however we don’t have any announcements to make at this time.”
EA’s other MMO in development, Star Wars: The Old Republic, has been described by genre king Blizzard as “very important to the industry as a whole”.
